I see patients for 50 minutes initially and 25 minutes
thereafter usually. During that time I am trying to work out what
underlies the problem/s and the context around that. Often their
issue is in fact part of a larger totality so the first session is a
thorough and detailed trawl. After that I order remedies to be posted out
and perhaps give some homework to do before reviewing the person after a
few weeks typically
From the patient point of view it's a more involved
role than the relatively passive one of visiting your doctor and being
handed a prescription. I fit around you much more but also make demands,
for example: describe that symptom even more by shutting your eyes and
taking a moment; find out about your birth; record your dreams; change
your diet; email me in a week with how you're getting on and so on
Between sessions I review every patient to give myself the space and time I need to do my best, and also ask them to email me anytime with anything that may help. This is where most work happens in fact, although it’s invisible
I'm happy to answer quick queries about whether I may be able to help or not. If I know a little of the background to the problem it's easier to be more specific about the prospects
